Fernham is a picturesque Oxfordshire village in the Vale of the White Horse with views of Uffington White Horse, the oldest hill-carved horse in the country.
The village has more than 80 houses, three farms, a church, a pub, two village greens, a village pump and a children's play park.
Though Fernham is small, the community spirit in Fernham is very strong and is often one of the reasons people choose to live here.
Because Fernham is such a vibrant community, we have been raising much-needed funds through Project Inspire to adapt
St. John's Church into a multi-functional building,
The building will be both a place of worship and a centre for community activities for our village and our neighbours.
In November 2007, Project Inspire won £94,000 (£80,000 plus £14,000 in VAT) in The Big Lottery Fund and ITV's public voting competition, The People's Millions. We can now start work to convert our vision of a community hall into reality.
