Our fete on Saturday, 9 June, was well supported, raising £1082 for village funds. It was our second best result, beaten only by the 2003 fete, which raised £1,185.
Add to this year's fete total the contribution to the church raised through refreshments (£128) and the ballet ticket raffle for Project Inspire (£103.50), and it was a very successful day indeed!
Fete attractions included a white elephant stall, books, plants, a coconut shy, boules, a barbecue, a shooting range, tea and cakes, two raffles, and children's games.
It was a great team effort. A special 'well done' should go to the children who stepped up to run stalls and games: Edward, Christopher, Hannah, Maddy and Jessica.
In the evening, many of the villagers who participated in the fete got together to round out the day's fun with a barbecue.
