Fernham Oxfordshire

Champagne breakfast

Rain did not stop this year's champagne breakfast from being a great success. The breakfast on the morning of Saturday, 30 June, was moved into a barn at Fernham Farm, where a cosy time was enjoyed by all. Some even remarked 'better than last year' but perhaps the bubbly had been working its magic by then!

It was very good to be able to welcome Julie Mayhew-Archer, chair of Vale of White Horse District Council, who was invited along by our local councillor, Yvonne Constance; both enjoyed the event and have promised further support to Project Inspire.

Once we know the final Just Giving results, we expect to have raised about £800 which is a superb result considering we had to pay for the champagne this year. Our thanks to Carillion Health at the Great Western Hospital who provided their head chef, Paul Curtis, and his assistant Hayley, plus the cost of all the food free of charge. A very generous gesture.

Many thanks also go to Kevin, for rescuing the event from the weather; to the small army of kind folk who help set up the event on Friday night and Saturday morning, and then run the event so successfully; and to all who came. It was another memorable Inspire event which will help us considerably towards our Phase 1 target of £80,000.
